There will also be RAID on the new servers (as promised a year ago!), so customers will benefit from this move in several ways. Disk crashes shouldn't be an issue anymore, so no more Christmas Eves spent on those :)

More on this later. We will try to ensure that there is no downtime and that all emails find their way to the new home (so no emails are lost).

Updates

The move is getting closer: the new datacenter is as good as we thought and we will start moving sites soon - one site at a time. We will inform customers by email when their site is moved so everybody should stay informed. And, nobody should notice anything really - if everything works as planned the transition should go smoothly without downtimes.

The word we got is that problem should be taken care of, for now, and for the future as well. We will let you know if their fix is working well. I know that they should have enough hardware and people to combat this.

The server admin updated the server without consulting me and as a results, eveything wasn't done as they should have been.

This wasn't the first problem of this kind and I'm thinking of the possible solutions...

Basically it works like the in-place page editor, but it is for stylesheets: you click a place on the screen and Bingo!, you can edit that element's CSS rules.

Couldn't be easier than that, could it? No need to know much about CSS to be able to change the look and feel of your site, every aspect of it. Total control with a point-and-click system.

Select the new theme by editing your profile.

We took these, combined them, stripped some functionality (kept antialiasing) and simplified the API. There is one restriction: only DIVs can be rounded with this implementation, which suited us fine, and made the code a bit shorter.

Usage

You have to attach a class "rounded" to the divs you want round.

Here's the Javascript that you have to add to the end of your html page

The first parameter, "rounded" stands for the classname which is used to mark the divs that we want to make round. The other two parameters are the radius of the corners, the bigger the number, the rounder you will get.

Update: Added two optional parameters. Now the usage is:
Rounded(class, sizex, sizey [, sizex_bottom, sizey_bottom]);
sizex_bottom and sizey_bottom being optional, as denoted by the square brackets.

If sizex_bottom and sizey_bottom are missing, all 4 corners are rounded. If they are present, sizex and sizey are used for top row and the sizex_bottom and sizey_bottom are used for bottom row.

There are now two skins to choose from, the default one, grayish, sleek, elegant, and a new one called Gskin, which resembles, well... can you guess?

The skins can be selected from 'My profile' which is accessible right in the starting screen, and from the menu/users. There were also some changes to the menu structure which we apologize from the old users who became accustomed with it, but it's for the better eventually.

The webmail will get new skins in time also. Also in the 'My profile', there will beis the possibility to customize the toolbar in just a little while.

This magic is accomplished with the help of a Firefox extension, so at minimum you need the Firefox browser, or, possibly, some other mozilla based browser.

Basically you can drag and drop pictures to the editor, photo album, layout editor, any files to the file browser, file archives and so on - this work almost everywhere where there is the possibility to upload files. No need to use that awkward "browse" feature of the browser anymore, just drag and drop and you are done. Here's a demo.

Install the extension if you have Firefox 1.0 or newer. 

There are new spam control options and spam management tools to make comment and trackback spam management easier. You will find the spam control options in Project Properties, and the spam management tool icon is right on the top of the page.

If this doesn't cut it, we will give a Spam Assassin an assignment!

Enable your sitemap in Project Properties/Feeds. The urls included in the sitemap will be the public urls of your site.

Google Sitemaps should improve your rankings in the search results, or at least help Google to index your site. For example, there is a notification system to let Google know about the changed urls and content, and we use that system to notify Google.

The DNS based failover, which is on the todo list, would have prevented this long downtime. It's not here but it's coming. Also, there will be RAID on the servers at one point.

We apologize for this, of course, but intend to do about it something as well...
