I did it like you and it worked.
I've put a meta-tag with a 5-second-redirect to Google here (original site put in HTML-Comment-Tags):
http://home.arcor.de/nasenfresse/c0ffeesh0p/
I use Firefox 2.0.0.11 and it works correctly, without any problems.
